The Prizery Welcomes Allison Snead as New Dance and InteractiveStorytelling Teacher

The Prizery is delighted to welcome Allison Snead as the new Dance and Interactive Storytelling Teacher for its Pre-K Arts Academy program. Snead brings a wealth of performance experience, creative energy, and a passion for inspiring young learners through movement and imagination.

A lifelong performer and artist, Snead has an extensive background in dance, theater, and visual arts, with experience spanning stage performance, choreography, costume and makeup design, puppeteering, and arts-based event planning. Her approach combines storytelling, rhythm, and creative play—encouraging children to explore self- expression and confidence through the arts.

Snead has performed with numerous community theaters across Virginia and North Carolina, including McGregor Hall, Clarksville Community Players, Granville Little Theatre, and Roxboro Community Theater. Some of her favorite credits include featured roles in Bright Star, Ragtime, and The Little Mermaid, as well as choreographic and costume design work for Frozen Jr. and The Lion King Jr.

“Allison’s creativity and enthusiasm make her a wonderful addition to our Pre-K Arts Academy team,” said Kristy Johnson, Executive Director of The Prizery. “Her unique combination of performance experience and passion for storytelling through movement will bring new energy and inspiration to our youngest artists.”

The Prizery’s Pre-K Arts Academy, now celebrating its 20th year, is a partnership with Halifax County Public Schools, made possible through Title I funding. The program offers art, music, and movement-based storytelling classes designed to introduce four- year-old students to the joy and creativity of the arts.
