The Prizery is excited to announce an engaging three-week dance class series taught by instructor Allison Snead. She has been dancing since she was a young girl, growing up immersed in dance classes, competitions, and theater. She believes ballroom dancing fosters a strong sense of community and bonding, as it requires dancers to rely on and support one another on the floor. Allison is excited to expand her dance journey with the upcoming March classes and hopes others will join her at the Prizery for this new social dancing event, celebrating movement, connection, and the joy of dancing together.
Designed for dancers of all experience levels, this lively program will take place Monday and Wednesday for three weeks starting March 9th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Each week of the series will feature new dances, giving participants the opportunity to continuously learn and grow. Instruction will include a variety of popular styles such as Latin, Waltz, and Swing, offering a well-rounded and energetic dance experience.
To celebrate the culmination of the classes, The Prizery will host a public dance showcase on Friday, March 27. This special evening will allow the community to come together for a night of fun, music, and dancing, inviting both participants and guests to enjoy the excitement of the performances and social dancing.
This dance series highlights The Prizery’s commitment to providing dynamic arts programming and opportunities for creative expression within the community. The series emphasizes that dance is for everyone. Participants are encouraged to attend with a partner of their choice—whether a husband and wife, two best friends, family members, or on their own. Ballroom and social dance are built around the roles of lead and follow, and this class will give dancers the opportunity to learn and experience both, expanding their overall dance knowledge and confidence while fostering inclusivity, connection, and community on the dance floor.
Tickets are on sale now for both the dance classes and the showcase. Tickets may be purchased online at prizery.com, by calling (434) 572-8339, or by visiting The Prizery during regular business hours, Wednesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
