On Tuesday November 30, 2021 at midnight until 11:59pm The Prizery in South Boston, VA will participate for the first time in Giving Tuesday.
As a highlight of the Community – Our Prizery needs your help for this end of the year fundraising event.

Any donation of $100 or more will be doubled, up to $20,000 thanks to a generous pledge from an anonymous donor who spent their entire life supporting art and culture in this community (name to be revealed in the new year). In one day, we could raise more than half our goal of $60,000 – the “cash” we need to keep the lights on for our skeleton staff continuing to produce community events , host local and Virginia artists and plan and execute a grand reopening for our Gallery, our SummerStock Theatre Festival and community events with thousands of attendees like our Trunk or treat event and our upcoming “Chillin With Santa” spectacular. These funds will also be critical to our planned full re-opening in fall and winter of 2022/23  .

We need you now more than ever!

What is #GivingTuesday?

Launched by 92nd Street Y in 2012 as a charitable answer to the Black Friday and Cyber Monday retail shopping days, #GivingTuesday is a worldwide movement to encourage giving and celebrate generosity.

“Miracles are intensely practical events. They are made by people. They need to be supported, encouraged and developed in order to go on. The Prizery Theatre in South Boston Virginia must go on, it must be supported and developed…to be…Miraculous!”

Think of us as a Gym for Empathy

Whether you participate on #GivingTuesday during the months leading up to it, or as a way to launch your holiday giving please consider The Prizery in South Boston as an organization that serves the region providing Culture, Festivity, Artistic opportunity, Education and community gathering.

Where will my donation go?

Our primary goal is to develop peoples’ potential through the arts and encourage them to have an impact on their community by connecting them and ourselves through art making. We use our resources to;

  • Continue to expand PT’s sphere of influence and brand recognition.
  • Reach our under-served, largely rural-dwelling citizens and especially youth and people of color.
  • Be recognized as THE youth/family-centric Centre for Art Making and participation in the region…A cultural YMWCA
  • Produce work and programs with, by and for children, young people and their families, contributing significantly to the cultural, social and economic well-being of Halifax County, its neighboring cities, communities and beyond.
Its Not Just about us
it’s about All Of US

Harnessing the collective power of charities, businesses, and individuals, the goal of this initiative is to transform how people think about, talk about, and participate in giving all year long — especially during the holidays. So…make a gift to the local charities you care about and the initiatives that speak to you! Here are a few…
