Arts Education Performances for Students Pre-K – 12th Grade

The Prizery is excited for our 2022-23 Arts Education Performance Series!

We offer a variety of options including performances that you can bring your students to see, artists-in-residence programs at your school, after-school enrichment, performances on-site at your school, arts workshops and classes in theatre, dance, music, and visual arts and professional development workshops for teachers!

Also, if we have an evening performance we can provide tickets for teachers and students at deeply discounted rates!

“Frederick Douglass Speaks on Democracy”

Join Mr. Richardson performing as Frederick Douglass for a conversation about the meaning of American Democracy and Mr. Douglass’ story and legacy.

“The Art of Historical Interpretation”
Professional Development Workshop with Nathan M. Richardson

Thursday, November 17th, 4 – 6 pm
$25 per person

Are you a history lover? Theatre performer? Actor, teacher, or museum docent? Then this workshop is for you! Join Nathan M. Richardson as he provides attendees with a lecture on the concepts of historical interpretation, including finding a character, creating a character’s foundation, techniques, and more!

Teachers and professionals will receive 2 training CEU credits for attendance.


“The Best Christmas Pageant Ever”

December 15th & 16th at 9am and 11 am
$5 per student
1 teacher free with every 15 students.

In this hilarious Christmas classic, a couple struggling to put on a church Christmas pageant is faced with casting the Herdman kids – probably the most inventively awful kids in history. You won’t believe the mayhem – and the fun – when the Herdmans collide with the Christmas story head on!

Experience the art of over 50 artists in a variety of styles and using a variety of materials throughout The Prizery as a docent guides your class through and offers descriptions of the artwork.

We would love to have service clubs, sports teams, PTA groups or students looking for volunteer hours to run children’s games, do faceprinting, pumpkin painting and more!

Festival of Trees
“I’ll Be Home for Christmas”

Opening Saturday, December 3rd

and December 5-9 from
9:00 am – 5:00 pm

School groups may schedule a time to bring classes to see the trees.

A holiday fundraiser for The Prizery where individuals, schools, individual classes and/or clubs can design and decorate a Christmas tree, wreath, centerpiece, or gingerbread house! Free 4′ trees are available to schools on a first-come basis as long as supplies last.

All decorated trees & holiday items will also be judged on a variety of criteria and audience favorite will be chosen based on monetary donations made to “vote” for a specific tree.

All trees are provided by The Prizery or you may choose to provide your own.

Wreaths, gingerbread houses and centerpieces are not provided by The Prizery.
